Chris Mackey is a clinical and counselling psychologist and Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society with 38 years’ psychotherapy experience. He is the principal psychologist at Chris Mackey and Associates, his private psychology practice in Geelong. His practice’s website provides extensive information about a wide range of mental health issues (see www.chrismackey.com.au).

Chris has been a regular presenter on Destination Happiness, a TV show aired last year at noon on Saturdays on Channel 9 across Australia. A second series is being planned for 2018.  Chris presents the “Happy Mind” segment each week, involving brief tips based on the science of positive psychology. Chris is continuing throughout 2018 with his radio guest spot, at 5:40pm every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month with Roxie Bennett and Daryl Reader on Bay FM 93.9 Geelong. Listen to past episodes on the Bay FM website which include segments on synchronicity involving callers phoning in to tell of their experiences of meaningful coincidences.

Chris continues to write a regular opinion column for The Geelong Advertiser every alternate Tuesday as he has done over the past few years.

Chris has presented at numerous national and international scientific conferences over the past 20 years on such topics as the assessment and treatment of psychological trauma and the evaluation of effectiveness of psychological therapy for anxiety and depression. He has a particular interest in promoting more optimistic approaches to mental health, including positive psychology.
