Chris Mackey is a clinical and counselling psychologist and Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society with 39 years’ psychotherapy experience. He is the principal psychologist at Chris Mackey and Associates, his private psychology practice in Geelong. Chris has been a regular presenter on Destination Happiness, a TV show aired last year at noon on Saturdays on Channel 9 across Australia. A third series is being planned for 2019. Chris presents the “Happy Mind” segment each week, involving brief tips based on the science of positive psychology. Check out the Destination Happiness website for more information on the show.
Chris is continuing throughout 2019 with his radio guest spot, at 5:40pm every second Wednesday with Roxie Bennett and Daryl Reader on Bay FM 93.9 Geelong. Listen to episodes recorded in2018 which include segments on synchronicity involving callers phoning in to tell of their experiences of meaningful coincidences.

Chris has presented at numerous national and international scientific conferences over the past 25 years on such topics as the assessment and treatment of psychological trauma and the evaluation of effectiveness of psychological therapy for anxiety and depression. He has a particular interest in promoting more optimistic approaches to mental health, including positive psychology.
