Chris Mackey is a clinical and counselling psychologist and Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society with 35 years’ psychotherapy experience. He is the principal psychologist at Chris Mackey and Associates, his private psychology practice in Geelong. Over recent months Chris has been a regular presenter on Destination Happiness, a new TV show aired at noon on Saturdays on Channel 9 across Australia. Repeats are screened on Channel 9 Life on Sundays at 10am, and are available at any time on 9Now on the internet. Chris presents the “Happy Mind” segment each week, involving brief tips based on the science of positive psychology. Check out the Destination Happiness website for more information on the show.
Chris has continued throughout 2017 with his radio guest spot, at 5:40pm every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month with Roxie Bennett and Daryl Reader on Bay FM 93.9 Geelong. Listen to past episodes on the Bay FM website which include segments on synchronicity involving callers phoning in to tell of their experiences of meaningful coincidences.
Chris also writes a regular opinion column for The Geelong Advertiser every alternate Tuesday.

Chris has presented at numerous national and international scientific conferences over the past 20 years on such topics as the assessment and treatment of psychological trauma and the evaluation of effectiveness of psychological therapy for anxiety and depression. He has a particular interest in promoting more optimistic approaches to mental health, including positive psychology, about which he has presented regular free public talks in Geelong over the past ten years. He has been fascinated in synchronicity throughout his career as well as in his everyday life, leading him to choose this topic for his first book.
